What getting care at Connections looks like: four simple steps to support and healing
At Connections, we understand that seeking mental health care can be a big step. We're here to make the process as smooth, comfortable, and supportive as possible. Whether you're taking the first step toward improving your mental health or continuing your journey, we want you to know that you're not alone. This blog will guide you through each step of the process of getting care at a Connections center.
Step 1: Just walk-in
At Connections, we make it easy for you to get the care you need without any additional stress. One concern that often arises is the pressure to schedule an appointment in advance or navigate complex insurance requirements. At Connections, we make it easier for you to get the care you need by eliminating these hurdles.
No appointment is needed to receive treatment at any of our centers, and we welcome everyone—whether you have insurance or not. This means you can walk in whenever you're ready. Making the decision to seek care doesn't have to be complicated, and at Connections, we're here to help you take that first step with ease and confidence.
Step 2: Get care from a dedicated team
When you come to one of our centers, you're not just receiving care from one person—you're supported by a team of dedicated specialists who are here to help you through every aspect of your mental health journey. Our team includes providers, nurses, behavioral health technicians, recovery support specialists, case managers, nurse practitioners, medical doctors, physician assistants, unit coordinators, and more—each one committed to delivering high-quality behavioral health care. With their unique perspectives and expertise, they provide personalized care and support tailored to your needs.
You will meet with a team member for an initial intake, where you'll have an open, judgment-free space to discuss your concerns, needs, and thoughts. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or any other challenge, this conversation provides an opportunity to express how you're feeling and how we can best support you. During this time, the team members will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your individual situation and mental health history..
Step 3: Be seen by a provider quickly
People who come to Connections are typically seen within 90 minutes or less. Once you’ve completed your intake, a psychiatrist or other psychiatric provider will evaluate you and discuss a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. This plan may include therapy, medication management, or other support services designed specifically for you. Throughout the process, you will be involved in every decision, ensuring your care is collaborative, empowering, and truly centered around your unique needs.
Step 4: Leave with a plan and a sense of hope
At Connections, our goal is not only to provide the care you need during your time with us but also to offer the ongoing support necessary for long-term success.
As part of your care plan, your team will connect you to long-term resources that promote continued growth. You’ll always have access to tools and support to help you manage your mental health independently with confidence. We are committed to empowering you with the right resources and skills to guide you through your recovery journey.
Should you ever need someone to talk to, want to review your discharge plan, or need additional resources, you are always welcome back at a Connections center. We’re here for you, 24/7/365.
