Connections Health Solutions Chosen to Operate First-Of-Its-Kind Behavioral Health Crisis Care Center in King County, Washington

Company to expand center services to include youth urgent care and withdrawal management

Connections Health Solutions, the leading innovator of immediate access emergency behavioral healthcare, has been selected by King County to operate one of five crisis care centers as part of the King County Crisis Care Centers Initiative. Connections Kirkland was selected as a launch-ready site by King County, recognizing its ability to provide immediate crisis care. Operational since August 2024, the center serves as a safe, supportive alternative to emergency rooms or the criminal justice system, offering 24/7 behavioral health services, including walk-in urgent care, crisis stabilization, and outpatient recovery programs.

Since opening, Connections Kirkland has already made a significant impact, providing crisis care to thousands of individuals and helping to keep people out of emergency departments, inpatient hospitals, and jails. By offering immediate stabilization and ongoing recovery support, the center is delivering better outcomes for individuals while reducing the strain on first responders, hospitals, and the legal system—ultimately resulting in cost savings for the community and a more effective crisis response system.

As part of this designation, Connections will expand its services to include youth urgent care and substance use withdrawal management beginning Summer 2025.

"We are honored that King County has chosen us to help expand crisis care options for its residents and surrounding communities," said Colin LeClair, chief executive officer of Connections Health Solutions. "King County’s commitment to behavioral health is a model for communities nationwide as we work to strengthen crisis care systems across the country."

Connections responded to a request for proposal issued by King County in September 2024 and was selected through a rigorous evaluation process that assessed providers on their ability to establish and operate crisis care centers offering immediate, accessible mental health and substance use services.

The center is located at 11410 NE 122nd Way, Kirkland, WA.
