Introducing Connections Health Solutions-28

Mental and behavioral health crises can cause people to spend time in the emergency department or jail due to lack of better care options. Connections Health Solutions is dedicated to creating safe environments for people seeking the help they deserve. Here’s a closer look at who we are and how we help people on their recovery journey.

What is Connections Health Solutions?

Connections Health Solutions offers mental health services and behavioral health care 24/7. By providing immediate access to care, using the least restrictive care necessary, and connecting people to community resources, we aim to create positive, lasting change in our communities. We are located in Phoenix, AZ and Tucson, AZ.

How We Help

We offer a range of behavioral health services so people can receive effective, personalized treatment quickly and safely.

Walk-in Urgent Care

Our urgent care facilities offer psychiatric evaluation, medication support, and social services assistance, available every day of the week.

Crisis Observation and Stabilization

For most crisis cases, our team can assess, treat, and stabilize individuals within 24 hours so they can return to their community and everyday life as soon as possible. Our crisis observation unit is an open setting where care is provided 24/7.

Inpatient Treatment

When crisis stabilization takes more than 24 hours, individuals can stay in our inpatient facility, where they have access to treatment, care coordination, and support. Most inpatient stays last fewer than 3 days.

Residential Programs

Our residential treatment programs offer continued treatment in a home setting following inpatient treatment or crisis observation. Most stays last two weeks or less.

Transitions

We work with community services to find patients a permanent care team, proper housing, follow-up appointments, and other continued support before they are discharged.

Our History

Psychiatrists Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson developed Texas’s first behavioral health crisis observation model in 1993. In 2009, they brought the model to Arizona and founded Connections Health Solutions. In Arizona, they gained ownership of the Urgent Psychiatric Center, and saw such great success that in 2015 they were invited to run the Tucson Crisis Response Center.

What Makes Connections Unique

Connections Health Solutions offers communities a place where all individuals, regardless of current circumstance or history, can access the quality care they deserve. We provide immediate access to care, so people don’t have to wait for days or weeks to get assistance. Our multidisciplinary behavioral health care team ensures each person who walks through our doors receives the proper level of care. When patients are ready to leave, we connect them with resources to help support their recovery.

Our Outcomes

Connections serves more than 35,000 people each year. Most patients who enter our crisis observation unit are stabilized and ready to leave within 24 hours, with the median visit time for crisis stabilization being 19-22 hours. We are proud to be considered the national expert in the field and look forward to continuing to support the people in our communities.
